Free Workshop for Parents
The Radford Secondary School Wellbeing team are excited to announce that, in response to popular demand, we are offering another round of the 3-session workshop on Managing Parental Stress using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (pronounced as the word “ACT”) focuses on developing psychological flexibility and mindfulness for a better quality of life. It is a form of psychotherapy that teaches people to:
- let unpleasant thoughts and feelings that are out of your control come and go, and
- take action towards living a life you want to live.
The three workshops will focus on strategies including mindfulness, self-compassion and values to help you manage difficult thoughts and emotions that parents can experience.
This program is offered to all parents with a student in Years 7 –12 and the group will be capped at approximate 10 participants.
When: 6, 13 and 20 June 2024 (Thursday evenings)
Time: 4.00 pm – 6.00 pm
Where: In person at Radford College, bottom level of the Morison Building
Cost: Free
If you would like to sign up, please send an email to the workshop organiser by no later than 3 June 2024.
