Reporting back on Radford Reaches Out

By Rev. Dr Katherine Rainger, Senior Chaplain

Radford College is a generous-spirited learning community. In the lead up to Foundation Day each year the whole College participates in a fundraising appeal called ‘Radford Reaches Out’. The funds raised support organisations doing great work locally, nationally and internationally.

Junior School

The Radford Student Council (RSC) focused their fundraising efforts on supporting the four children sponsored through Compassion Australia. The sponsorship program ensures they have access to healthy food, clean water, medical care and education

The RSC also worked hard to ensure that every year group was equipped with the information about organisations that they could support including:

The Junior School raised a total of $7 941.

Secondary School

Radford Awareness and Service (RAS) ran a BBQ at the Athletics carnival, co-ordinated a successful Rainbow-inspired fundraising day and collected direct donations through the online site.

The money raised by RAS will go to St John’s Care to support Canberrans in need and Anglicans in Development to help fund nutritional, education and support programs in Gaza, Jordan, Sri Lanka and Kenya, which aim to improve the health and livelihoods of families, especially children, and those living with a disability.

The Secondary School raised a total of $2 970.

Thank you to everyone who supported Radford Reaches Out in 2024. Close to $11 000 is making its way to organisations who are making a positive impact near and far.
