Cross Country
The ACT Cross Country was held on a cold and windy day in Week 7. It was great to see Radford College represented by 28 runners at Stromlo Forest Park.

Congratulations to Patrick Maundrell for finishing 1st in the Boys 12 Years event and Emerson Ryan for finishing 1st in the 12 Years Boys Multi-Class event.
In the afternoon, the 13&O carnival was held with the following Radford students competing: Zoe Schofield (Karri), Mae Smith (Boronia), Shannon Clews (Karri), Isla Murphy (Jarrah), Kaiya Barsby (Wandoo), Ariadna Iskhakova (Huon), Rosie Humphries (Jarrah), Kate Kristiansen (Huon), Astrid Evans (Banksia), Keira Larkham (Jarrah), Katherine Maundrell (Wandoo), Aoife Rothery (Huon), Bella Schofield (Karri), Louis Dal Bon (Kurrajong), Rajeev Tamhane (Jarrah), Matty Maundrell (Wandoo), Owen Toyne (Boronia) and Oliver Tys (Karri).
Congratulations to Astrid Evans and Owen Toyne for finishing 1st in the 16- and 17-years age group respectively.

Basketball
Radford College is excited to host an NBA Basketball School Australia Holiday Camp from 8 – 12 July 2024. This event offers young athletes a fantastic opportunity to enhance their basketball skills in a fun and supportive environment.
Dates: July 8 to 12
Location: Radford College Collegians Centre
Time Slots:
- U10 and U12 Age Groups: 9.00 am – 10.30 am
- U14 Age Group: 10.30 am – 12.00 pm
- U16 and U19 Age Groups: 1.00 pm – 2.30 pm
- Reps Only: 2.30 pm – 4.00 pm
Cost: $25 – $209 (depending on package)
Attire: Participants are required to purchase and wear an NBA Basketball Schools Australia T-shirt
Coaches: Reece Kaye, Aidan Barnett, Callie Bourne and more.
The camp will emphasise both fun and individual skill development, ensuring that each participant has an enjoyable and productive experience. This five-day program is designed to cater to different age groups, allowing for age-appropriate coaching and activities. Each session is structured to provide a balance of drills, games and individual coaching to help players improve their basketball skills, including shooting, dribbling, passing and defence. Additionally, the "Reps Only" sessions are tailored for more advanced players currently on the Basketball ACT/NSW representative pathways seeking to further hone their competitive edge.
Priority Enrolment:

Coerver Coaching
On Friday 14 June, the Radford Girls Football Coaches were invited to attend the Coerver Skills Clinic held on the J.A. Mackinnon Oval. The coaches observed the sessions with Coach Ben providing useful tips and tricks and answering questions from our coaches.
Special shout out to Riley Barton (Wandoo) who was chosen from submissions received nation-wide for his demonstration of his favourite Coerver Game Move, the Scissor, to receive a Replica Champions League Match Ball. Riley’s submission can be viewed here.

SSACT Scholarship Fund
The SSACT Scholarship Fund is once again open and available for students who have been selected in a SSACT representative team and is required to travel interstate to compete at the respective School Sport Australia National Championships.
More information on the Scholarship Fund and its consideration criteria, can be found here.
Successful applicants will receive a $500 deduction from their team fees during the payment phase of the team preparation process. The approval process can be quite quick once the student is selected and one of the criteria is deemed as a 'Circumstantial Hardship' e.g. multiple children from the same family making teams in a close timeframe.
